How to use Jupyter Lab with Vast.ai

Step 1: Create a Vast.ai Account

If you haven't already, head over to Vast.ai and create an account. You'll need to add a small amount of credit to get started.

Step 2: Choose a Jupyter Template

Vast.ai makes it incredibly easy by providing pre-configured templates. When you go to the "Create" instance page:

• Click on the EDIT IMAGE & CONFIG button.
• Select a template that includes Jupyter, such as the PyTorch or TensorFlow recommended images.
• Ensure the Jupyter Lab option is checked in the launch configuration.

Step 3: Rent your GPU

Filter for the GPU you need (e.g., RTX 4090 or A100) and find a machine with good reliability. Click RENT to start your instance.

Step 4: Connect to Jupyter Lab

Once your instance is ready (it will show as "Running"):

• Go to the Instances tab.
• Find your new instance and click the OPEN button (or the Jupyter icon).
• You will be redirected straight into your Jupyter Lab environment!
